I have a 30 gal breeder tank. I plan on putting Cichlids in it and I was wondering if I should get an emperor 400 or 280. I already have one regent filter on it. I had a canister filter but I got rid of it. Thanks

I am allways on the side of overfiltering. If the flow is to strong for the fish/plants, then you can slow it down.

Go 400. Besides, you might want to get a larger tank later and now you allready have the filter.

Philbe is right. One thin i have learned.....when you buy something....try and keep in mind what you will want to do later.......If you get the 400....you could always use it on a larger tank down the road.(Ifthats what you eventualy want to do.) Us fish ppl....we always want bigger.

Pheww I am glad you said that because I couldn't wait to order it and I ordered the 400. Thanks :D I don't think I will be getting a larger tank though :( I have the biggest one I can get in my apartment. Hopefully one day I will move into a bigger place.
