ok my arms are really feeling this constant water changing now
but i am not going to slack off
question is with the python the water drains off i get that and the dechlorinator goes in as the water goes in or before
but how do you regulate the temperature for your
fish wont it just be cold water that is going back in
i thought this was bad to do
am thinking of getting the python to do the changes if it a lot easier as changing my water is a three person conveyor belt job at the moment
but just want to know about the water temperature first

Set the temperature from at the tap where it's hooked up. They recommend using a thermometer, but that'll just be a crutch. After a little practice you'll be able to get the temperature right within a couple degrees. It takes very little hot water, btw.

so if you have not got a mixer tap it is not a good idea then
we only have hot and cold taps not a mixer
is there a way round that

Hmmmm, try asking at your local hardware store around the plumbing section. See if there's anything that you can pick up along the lines of a Y-tube that you could hook to your taps. I've see them jerry-rigged out of tubing and hose clamps before, but that's not much of an option for something that you'd be putting on weekly for a half hour then taking off, it's more of a permanent/semi-permanent setup.

You'd presumably want something that you could screw onto each faucet for water changes, then unscrew when you were done, unless you just wanted to leave it on there, in which case it's pretty easy, if not necessarily attractive.

maybe i shall tell the husband to get mixer taps

he would love that
set up tank
i manage to lose the first fishie inhabitants to white spot
buy a python about 30 pounds in uk
now i need new taps too

may see if there is a possibility of setting up a set of outputs underneath the downstairs bathroom sink will look into it some more i think

or as another option we have these shower head adaptors that are two ends into one and they slide onto taps really cheap too
if i jury rigged the python to this then it might just work

thanks
