low light plant shipping - is 2-3 day OK?

I am considering picking up a few plants on aquariumplants.com. I am looking at very easy, low light plants - Javas, Hornwort, anubias, etc.

Anyways, the shipping is like $21.85 for next day, and it's only $8.85 for 2-3 day. Do you think these plants would be OK if I ordered 2-3 day? I mean, I am spending only like $12-$14 on the plants, it's kinda ludacris to me to spend twice as much on shipping! I know why it's so much shipping, but I'd still like to avoid it - I'm a college guy on a severe budget. Are these plants hardy enough to survive in your opinion?

I would think that they will be fine on 2-3 day. I doubt the store would give you that option if the plants were going to die. You just want to make sure the order won't be left outside if no one is home. This will be a problem if you live in a very cold area.

I have had various crypts and compacta swords shipped to me before with 2-3 day shipping without any problems. As mentioned before you should make sure someone is home when the plants arrived. Where I live I don't have the freezing problem, but I can't order plants durring the summer as it gets into the 110s in my area.

If you haven't looked already you can also try ebay for plants. :)

Thanks for the responses...

Yes, I was lookin' on ebay, but the variety is limited, plus paying for a plant and shipping from each seller adds up quickly. Here it's a few $$'s a stem, and $8.85 shipping for all of them.

I think I'll end up ordering online from that store then :)

I've shipped things regular ground mail 4-5 days and its come out fine.

If your ordering from a plant site they tend to over package thus grossly raising the shipping charges. If your dealing with another hobbyist then they can send them plants in a normal envelope and ship it priority for much less.

It will be fine shipped 2-3 day , as many have said, just try your best to be home when the box arrives, and wash all plants in water in a bowl , then place in your tank after you have inspected for any bugs/algea/whatever ... thier are also many people who sell here in the marketplace if you would like to buy from a hobbiest, shoot me a pm I will send you to the best ones I know :) I know all the cheap, best shipping, with nice healthy portions that are here . And on other sites as well, But I Love AC, You will not find a better or nicer fish forum . Good luck, and dont worry . HTH ~

i had a plant package get lost in the mail and it showed up after 11 days. all the plants were okay with the exception of the hygro which was rough but i managed to save a small peice of it that has now turned into 4 descent stems
