At what time and how should you remove the new swords? Here is an update on the progress of mine. It is starting to really grow new leaves now.

how difficult would it be to work on bending that stalk down so the new plant might have a chance to start growing roots befor you sever it from the parent plant?

if it doesn't twist the parent to much to do so I might try to put the new rosett on the gravel and see if it started to grow roots and after it is has a start of roots then you can sever and move it more. just to make sure it is on its way to self sufficiancy.

Cool, I'll start trying to work with it. I think I should be able to lay it down without breaking it or anything.

Thanks for the help.

it is just my experience from terrestrial plants(cactuses actually) that made me suggest the root first and then sever. some plants can be a pita to get to start growing roots if the start isn't strong enough. I don't have exp with swords and water plants on that but thats my 2 cents ;)
