I just bought a python and I am trying to figure out if I will be able to connect it to my sink. It says "standard water faucet" but I dont know if mine is standard. All I know is, on the faucet I have, the ridges to screw it into are on the inside. I believe that would mean it is a "female part." Anyone have one and can tell me some info on it? Thanks!

I think--someone correct me if not--that the Python kits will include the needed adapter for most faucets. Unless you special ordered the faucet, it's unlikely to be anything but standard--I've replaced three or four fuacets and never even seen a non-standard one. The adapter will be a little threaded rings that screws into the faucet, and the python attaches to the adaptor. Do you have a water bed? The adaptor is included with all water bed fill kits, and can be purchased at any home improvements store for less than a buck.

right, if the Python is brand new it will come with a metal adapter that will work with most faucets that have the thread on the inside. If it doesn't fit your faucet, you can always take a trip out to the Hardware store or Home Depot and find one that will work with both your sink and the Python. My original Python which I bought years ago didn't come with this adapter.... but I just recently bought one and it came with.

OrionGirl: I don't have a waterbed but I could always go get the adapter if needed.

N8: HAHA... I did unscrew the thing at the tip before I made the post.

Dangerdoll: Thanks! I guess I will just wait and see.

After reading your posts I figure I wont have any problems. If I do they will be easy to fix. It will be here is less than 2 days. When I order from thatfishplace.com my order comes overnight sometimes. I guess because I am close to them.

no problem Mayreee, wait'll ya get too, you're gonna see just how easy maintaining your tanks will be, you're gonna wonder just how did you survived without it, you're gonna love it!! ;)

I just mine too, but I'm having trouble getting the end of the faucet off. It just won't come off. I've tried pliers and it won't budge. Anyone else have any ideas how to get it off?

A little Liquid Wrench? There might be a build up from hard water or maybe a little rust, so a tap with a rubber mallet might help. A strip of vinyl or rubber between your wrench and the faucet helps sometimes or I have used a damp cloth instead with similar results. The really tough part is getting the thing off without marring the surface, so slow and easy persitence is the key. There are times when screwing up the end piece is unavoidable. Replacement is easy, as long as the threads on the faucet itself were not damaged in the process. Removing the entire spout and placing the end in a vice is not unheard of, but hopefully you will not have to go to that extreme.
