OK, I've always read/understood that the whole thing about fish growing to match the size of their tank is a fallacy. That actually, what's happening is that as the fish outgrows the bio-filter, it is living in polluted water. This impacts the fishes health, thereby stunting its growth.
I just read a seemingly well informed article that states "all fish produce a growth inhibiting hormone." Is this the case?
