i just got some new fish a red terror and a green terror.....and i went though the spechal of acklamating sp it to the water.....well i already had a electric yellow cichild in their....and hes chasing the terror's around the tank. do you think this is ok? will that stress the fish even more then it already has siince it was in a bag and getting used to new water chemistry...
i rearranged the rocks and plants and such as i was told to try to level the playing feild and smoothed out the gravel to try to confuse the existing fish..and keeping the light off for awhile....im just hoping the chasing wont cause them to break out into ick or somthing? what do u think

What size is your tank?

is the red terror a feste(sp?) if so it will out grow that tank and will most likely kill everything else once it gets used to its home. Is the electric yellow a yellow lab? if so its from africa and the other 2 are sa/ca and they have different water types.

im not sure what your asking is it a feste?......i asked the store i get most of my fish from and they said they would be ok.....and this outher store where i actually found the 2 terrors i have a green and a red terror said the clown knife was more to worry about.....and the outher is a electric yellow cichlid....but i think he was chasing the terrors around cause hes been in the tank for a month and he was being terroitial.......and they all told me i could keep a green and red terror together

oh and i frogot to add the red terror is the smallest fish in the tank right now..maybe alil more then a inch but not much.....its not even showing signs of red yet....and the green one is larger and is starting to show his green as far as the yellow cichlid...its an electric....wish i had a cam i could take a pic of him

there are two fish sold as red terrors.... One is a Festea(True Red Terror),, the other is is a Urothalmus(False Red Terror). If it's a Festea your other fish won't stand a chance when it grows up. Plus you would need a tank of at least 100 gal.Which ever one you have, they are both pretty mean IME.

yeah i called the store i bought the red terror from and found out its a faesta....but they stand on the fact that since their growing up together they should be able to get along....and the terror is just a baby basicaly not even showing color yet.....

I still say that the festae still need its own tank. 90 gallons or more just by itself. If its a male it will get very large, longer than the 55 is wide. if you want to try those fish together then go for it, but the 55 will still need to be upgraded. There will be a point 4" or 5" and the festae will start to rule the tank and then eventually kill everything else. Don't get me wrong its a great fish, it will just do better in a tank by itself

edit : or just a very large tank, sorry I wouldn't want to keep a fish alone either
