Hi all.... I'm verry happy because our pair of bristle nose plecostomus (ancistrus ??) laid eggs last week & the male guarded them for a few days 5 or so I think ... Today we noticed moving haha ... there must be 20+ its hard to see because oh boy these guys have laid there eggs in the absolutely best cave I've ever seen.... they've actualy dug out under a big rock & only big enough to let mr brislte in, it must be a 6" deep cave ... I'd like to ask anyone please if they know roughly how long until my bristles breed again ... also how quickly will the fry grow until safety size ... do you think my babies will be safe in my 6'Lx24"Wx27"D ..... will they be able to hide from predators or should I get them into a little 2' fry tank ... I have 5 Geophagus Surnamensis ... 3 Frotosas ... 10 assorted Corydoras ... 2 Salmon Cats ... 2 Pimelodis Pictus ... 5 Clown Loach ... oh & of course my Bristles 3 of em LOL ... thanks all, this is a great hobby ....

Congrats on the spawn, it might be safer to seperate the fries to another tank because i see you have cichlids like frontosa and other catfishes, which i think are likely to cause enough harm for the fries.

A friend of mine breeds bristlenose and he told me it takes about 4 months to raise them to a big enough size to sell them. That's all the info I have really.
