Hydroponic Reaktor - The what now?

Weeel... I'm sure no expert, but my plants (inside the tank, lol) take up nutrients so fast I have to add nitrates and phosphates to the tank just to keep them happy. Since terrestrial plants take up fertilizer with their roots, I can understand how this reaktor (why do they spell it that way?!?) works in principle...
