Ok.. So I currently have a 55 gallon, half live plants, half plasic. In the tank there are a total of *24 fish

* 6 black skirt tetras
5 gold barbs
4 albino cory cats
3 platies
3 rosy barbs
2 swordtails
1 (uncatchable) zebra danio

I would like to get one or two more fish to finish the tank, I would like to get something a little bit larger (possibly 5 or 6 inches max). I am looking for something that is obviously not going to harm or kill any of the current fish in the tank.

(Maybe something that will eat that **** danio) hehe

I was thinking about some type of gourami, but from what I can tell it wouldn't be very compatible in my tank.

Something large that will eat the danio won't know to stop after that - it will eat anything it can fit in its mouth.
You could try an angel or a gourami, but a gourami might not appreciate all the activity in the tank, and either may be harassed by the tetras and/or barbs. If I was you, I'd leave well enough alone :)

How about a few Congo tetras, they grow or are fairly big. Or you can try bleeding hearts. I have a few that are almost 4inch in diameter.

It depends if your looking for a mid level swimer a top feeder or a bottom dweller. I would go with a pair of quarter to med size discus they are a very peacefull fish.. I have my discus in a 55 gal with lots of tetras very similar to the setup you have currently,, good luck choose wisely make sure you get a fish that wont turn your current fish into fish food :rolleyes: :dance :o

A pair of Pearl Gouramis would be perfect. They are very gentle and should not pose a problem for your existing fish.

I had a couple pearl gouramis and they were too aggressive in my tank. I've found that Discus, while a beautiful fish, are more suited to a species tank or at least a tank with calmer fish. They don't like a lot of commotion.

A pair of nice angels would be a good choice, or maybe some tri-color sharks. I had a german blue ram that went very well in my 55 community but they don't get too big. Bleeding heart tetras will get along with all of your other fish and they'll grow to a good size. I like them because they resemble pirrhanas :)

I would suggest 2 kribensis cichlids or 2 Ram cichlids...the only thing about the rams, is they are more fragile. Both should max out at around 3-4 inches.
