Geez N8 are you serious? Please double check for me, I can post more pics... I got him, the pike, and the wolf for 30 bucks plus their old aquarium (only 25 gallons) and accessories!!!! I lie to you not folks !!!!!! Please help me pin the I.d. on this fish !!! Fh's aren't cheap fish and the Trimac is semi rare I believe, c'mon team help me out!!!
You guys rock
mbz

I hope they are not in that little tank still.

but I do think its a trimac but it could be a mix so it would be a flower horn then. If its a FH then I don't think its that expensive, I think that bubble popped. But if its a trimac yes its one of the more "rare" cichlids.

yes more pictures would help too.

N8DOGG is right. Either a Trimac or FH. What are your plans for the future for those fish? You say a pike , wolf and the fish you posted all 3 in a 25 gallon tank. If the wolf is a wolf cichlid aka Dovii and you want to keep all 3 together you will need a tank at least 180 gallons but bigger is always better.

Cichlasoma trimaculatum( the flower horn will have the same temperment/needs and so on)
now if its a male your looking 14"+, female I think just under a foot. a 75 Gallon for just one of these fish is needed and biger is always better(I guess I wasn't fast enough :) ) With those three fish the 180 may even be small. THe dovii will get EASY more than 14" and is just as a bad A-- as the Trimac.

Oh hell no N8, the 25 gallon has platys, barbs, tetras, etc..
in my kids room. He's in a 55 gallon . I'm waiting for my tripod to get home, I'll have more pics up later. Thanks for the advice/tips. Feel free to add on !!!

I just read up a little on the dovii and it may have to be in its own tank b/c it may just try to eat anything with it. also it will get 24"+ so a tank that is 24" or more wide to house this monster. I think the trimac is also better in its own tank.

edit : oh the other wolf the one that ate grandma :D
still its going to get BIG and it will like to eat/try to eat every other fish in the tank.

Reiner, let me clarify I bought all of them 2nd hand the tank came with them, one of my friends where moving. Theres no way I'd keep those three in sych a small tank.
Hell I have to go over a hundred gallon now! Its worth it though, they're beautiful specimens.
They've been together since small fry, according to my freind. The trimac pretty much runs the tank but they've never had any real problem. 7 months and counting....
I've had em for just under 2 months .

p.s. good help folks keep it comin...

depending on the type of pike it will get very large also. its good your looking into a larger tank so you can keep them all. They might be ok together b/c they all started small and grew up together but watch for aggression as you move them to a larger tank.
