Has anyone ever had any issue with Ehiem?
I have an Ehiem 2026 and it is leaking I have replaced o-rings and other parts on it and it still leaks. I have sent a few emails to Ehiem and haven't gotten any response or resolution in the issue of the canister filter leaking.

The parts are expensive and help is poor.
Does anyone have a solution, beside not giving them any more business and posting all over the internet the issues I have had with them and their product?

Where is it leaking from? It helps to put silicone grease on the o-rings to get them to seat correctly.

Olaf

i always smear a little vegetable oil on the o-ring before assembly. without it, I find that the ring "rolls" when fitting the cap on, and it does so unevenly around the circumference. The result is that there is poor contact bettween the cap and the canister in some spots and I used to get slow leaks there. Never had a problem using the veg oil.

Good luck

I have done this with silicone grease.
I have even gone to the point of using silicone calk to glue the top together and it still leaks.
I have replaced all 3 of the o-rings. At $29 for the large one this is getting way too expensive.
Ehiem want me to bring it down to the place I had purchased it, the LFS. They had over charged me in the beginning and since they are the only LSF in 30 miles they charge twice if not three times what the market is charging.
I wish another LFS would come here. WE NEED SOME COMPETITION HERE!!!

Can it be that you have the baskets in the wrong place? The two baskets are ever so slightly different sizes.

Are the baskets over loaded? Neither should be really full, the media will not compress and it will warp the baskets (been there, done that) and upset the seal between the two.

Have you broken a latch? Check all parts of the latches.

I have been very pleased with the service from both the Eheim site and from Hawaiian Marine who is the wholesale supplier for a great part of the country. Eheim talked me through a leaking problem and tried to help me get a connector that had jammed inbetween the two baskets, this caused the head to not seal correctly and the gaskets leaked. Even after the connector was replaced correctly, the basket was a bit warped, but after I unloaded the baskets a bit, they seemed to slowly go back into the right place.

I still have one unit down, but the new impellor well cover ($4) may be all it needs. Cal at Hawaiian Marine walked me through testing the unit to see what was not working after I ran it overnight without any flow.

Well this is what is happeniong there was a recall on a part. and eheim told me to sent it in and they will fix it. AT NO COST! WOW!

I already sent it. It took the UPS store an hour to process it, I had found the number on the web nand gave it to UPS.
I wasn't made aware of this "FREE DOMICILE" thing before it was sent. I have no idea what this "FREE DOMICILE" thing is.
I had enough trouble already trying to get this product out of the US. Why isn't there an Eheim support in the US?

Tracking number(s)
One is for the parts that I ordered and didn't need and the other is for the pump.

FedEX won't send it international unless I get a shipping label from you.
So, I went to UPS. UPS won't let me send this without a phone number.
I have all the paper work filled out and everything else is taken care of I just need a phone number so it can clear customs.

Please send the entire unit (except for the filter media) to :

EHEIM Repair Center
4226 Saint Jean Blvd Suite 209
Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, Quebec
H9G 1X5 Canada

Please mark the case number in the box. Your case number is EH******-**. Also for customs purposes please mark the value of the unit as of $50 or $60.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further assistance.

Where do I send it? Do I send the whole canister?

Thank you,

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding but I had never mentioned that there was going to be a charge for the repair of the unit. Even if the warranty of the pump was void when you open it we will cover all the cost of the repair.
Yes it's true that it might be more expensive to buy items thru your local dealer than online but please don't forget that they are able to provide a better and more personalized costumer service than most online dealers.
If you agree, I can send all necessary parts to Aquatic Imports so they can fix your pump.
Or if you prefer you can send us you pump to us for repair. However you must understand that it could take up to 3 weeks between the time you send your pump and the time you get it back.

Please let us know your decision as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your comprehension.

By the way the 3D illustrations are great!! (if only everybody could explain their set ups this way!!)
