I agree. I am going by the presence of the blue specks in the black area for the female, and the lack there of on the male.

Just give it time. They may or may not spawn depending on how compatible the pair is. Generally its best to buy 6-8 juvis and let them pair off on their own, that way you get stronger and better pairs. They are a male and female from what I can tell, as has been said, Males lack blue speckles in their black dot, while females will have blue speckles in their dot. Males generally, if they are mature, will have their second and or third dorsal ray be about twice as long as the others, in females the dorsal rays are generally all the same size. From my experience they aren't hard fish to get to spawn, you just have to let them do it when they want too, the hard part is getting them to not eat the eggs/fry. Rams are notorious for eating their spawns, other than letting them figure things out (which can take quite sometime) or removing the eggs there isn't much you can do to get them to produce fry. Water hardness will also play a role in the health of the eggs, harder water will allow more fungal infections on the eggs as well as a lower fertilization rate.
