So I got a bubble wand for our tank because our castle with a sand waterfall has died (switched air pumps, still dead) :(. I might take it apart later on to see what the problem is. Anyways, I ended up getting a bubble wand and have it placed along the back wall of the tank (pic in my sig). It goes from the right corner to the end of the heater where it loops back to the right side some.
I think the placement is ok, I just want to double check with ppl here. I do need to get a check valve, though. My only concern is if the bubbles will throw off the heater at all.

The only caution I have is make sure it's not placing a lot of air around the heater - heaters and air aren't a good mix. Circulation won't affect the heater at all - it's a good thing :D

I would move it so the bubbles are not in direct contact with the heater. Other than that the heater should be fine the bubbles will help move more water around the tank making the heater actually more efficient and helping to remove any "dead pools" in the tank.

I just picked up an 8" wand and stuck it on the side and my Oscar absolutely LOVES playing in the bubbles. Up and down up and down around and around he goes he is having a blast.
