I have 4 Otos in my 30 gallon tank and I never see them eating or swimming around. I have had them for about 5 months now may be longer. Before I got them I had a serious problem with algae, but now I don't have an algae problem. I supplement feeding them with zucchini, and algae wafers but I never see them eating these either. I have even tried feeding them at night. All they do is stay stuck to the back of my tank. Could I do something to make them more active or see them eat?

increasing the frequency of water changes makes a difference in how active mine are.

if they arn't getting enough food adding something that they would eat gives them the energy to move around more, but it sounds like they are getting along fine... getting so much easy food that they don't have to spend much time foraging for the food they need.

or they could just be slowing down with age... mine are less and less active the longer I have them and I keep the same maintenance routine like usual.
