I just set up a 10 gallon tank, planted, and I have a betta in there. I was wondering if it would be possible to put any other fish in there, or will the betta attack them? Thanks for any help.

It has a lot to do with your bettas attiutude. Some are easy go lucky. Some are natural born killers.

My betta lives happily with his tank mate's
1 platti
1 molly
2 ballon rams
3 corys.
He flared and was stand offish at first but he settled in after a few days and gets along fine with every one know. Except him and the molly arent fond of each other. Mollys a sailfin so i think its the fuller fins that key it off. They dont fight though just flare at each other.

My betta isn't named Oscar the Grouch for no reason... He's grumpy, but not super aggressive. He chases the tetras from time to time, when they get too close, but he hasn't nipped one. And he tries to chase the cories, but they're just oblivious.

From what I've read, bettas will do better NOT being with longer/flowing finned fish. And conversely, fin nipping fish will looove the pretty betta fins.

I think that bettas work best with bottom feeders. The problem I used to have was that my betta was a slow eater and liked to take his time. But the minnows ate everything super fast. I had to separate them. Cories make wonderful tankmates, but I would add three at least. If the tank is planted (and with Ottos it should be) then you shouldn't have any problems.

I Second the at least 3 cories
There happier in groups (more entertaining to)

I also agree with 3+ cories. One betta, 3-4 panda cories and a couple of ottos should do great in a well maintained tank. Planted would be even better.

One of my bettas ripped one of my tetras apart, but I think the tetra was already showing signs of weakness before the betta decided to attack. I've never seen him do more than flare at them if they got too close until the day he decided this one tetra needed to die :)

Cories & Otos should be no prob. Nippy fish will go after the betta's fins, and the ones I've had eventually killed tankmates like platys, guppies, mollies, etc.

At that amount of fish you'll be more than fine. Though you might want to add the cory catfish then the otto cats a week or so later to allow the benificial bacteria to catch up with the bio load.
