Do I change the water in the tank?? What should I do??

Also, when I put new water in there.. what am I supposed to do to the water first before putting it into the tank?? Conditioner stuff?? Oh and I can't get Bio-Spira here and the store was out of the next best thing. So I'm using this water conditioner thing that came with the tank.

I think part of the problem with your fish dying is that you tank was far too overstocked. You really need a much bigger tank than that for those fish.

But yes, I would be doing a water change as likely it was ammonia and nitrite that killed your fish. In fact with a tank that small and too many fish you need to be changing the water more likely at least twice a week or even more often than that.

Add water conditioner to get rid of chlorine or chloramines (get one that does both) and that is about all you need.

And if you haven't read the sticky in the newbie forum on cycling fish tanks then I would suggest you do.

You never change more than 50% of the water at a time. I would change 50% of the water every other day for a week than test the water and if it isn't normal coninue doing 50% water changes every other day and testing the water each week until the parameters are normal.
