Well... not the filter itself, its fine
today i thought i'd add the air tube connection to the power filter to get some oxygen circulating
but its so loud, and i aint talking the type of constant humming noise an air pump makes, this is like turbulance gushing type noise, and is really annoying
is there any way to have the air tube connection to the filter without it making suck a racket?
thanks!

I'm assuming you mean the venturi - little hose, collects air from outside the tank, mixes it with the outflow?
You can usually adjust how much air goes in, but no matter what, it's going to be loud. I'd go buggy if I had to listen to that all day, and it creates a lot of teeny bubbles in the tank, which I think is unattractive, personally.
If you're looking for surface disturbance, you could try lowering the water level a bit - I'm not sure what kind of filter you have, but this will work with many types. You can also buy very quiet air pumps (look for the more expensive ones, good quality, quiet pumps cost more) and run an airstone in the tank if you want bubbles :)

venturi, cool, now i know what its called
i think ill just dump it, like you said, it does create alot of bubbles and is just plain noisy
not sure if i want to spend much on an air pump, but ill see
thanks for the advice

I'll second that - in 99% of cases an air pump isn't needed, but seeing bubbles rising seems to give people a sense of security.
Surface disturbance is what causes the exhange of O2 and CO2 - most filters do a great job of this. Air bubbles don't actually place O2 into the water, the way they encourage higher oxygenation is by creating surface disturbance, just like the filter outflow :)
