i went to a pet store and asked them for a algae eater, was given a "Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus" was told will not grow no more than 5 inch, but my research shows that it will grow way way way bigger than that.

picture inclosed.




what is the common name for this guy, and how big do they get?

aka L001/L022 is his common name, gets to 8" long. Hope that helps. I just googled the long scientific name you listed.
