This real has nothing to do with anything but right now i'm extremly proud of my 8 year old brother who just learned how to read. He was sitting with me reading various post when he exclaimed wow that guy has cichlids eh!? and he pronounced it SICK-LID which is better than 9 of 10 adult customers who come in asking about chicklids, chchillid s and many others.... I will make a fish person outa him yet lol.

good job! its always easier to teach when the material is interesting. i learned to read from a gun safety book my dad showed me when i was 5. i wanted to go with him, so i could be a "big boy"... it works!!!

What an awesome acheivment!
I hope my DS catches on soon :D We home school so I worry to much :(

OH and what would the proper pronounciation be?

Way to go, little brother! When you sit down and think about it, reading's quite the thing; we see nothing more than a bunch of lines in a certain pattern, and learn to extract meaning... You're a wonderful big brother to be so proud, BTW :D
texas: it's pronounced sick-lid - Megatron was saying that not only can his little brother read, he can read and prounounce something that a lot of adults say incorrectly.

Lol you're so lucky, I can't wait to twist my child into an aquarist from the day they're old enough to walk =)
