What kind of fish is this?

I believe this is a flowerhorn cichlid. They grow to about 12 inches (maybe more). They are a very agressive cichlid to my understanding. Due to these two factors they need a pretty bigg tank. 100 gallons + would probally be good.

yeah looks like a flowerhorn... we have some at my work and yeah these things are terrors! A side note on them is they are a aquarium breed hybrid with some controversy surrounding them.
Interest is dying down on these fish, which should just be left at that. Pass on it and let them die off. The new thing is the red tail/ tiger shovelnose cross

The sterile thing is a wivestale.....trust me......a co-worker of mine breeds flowerhorns....yes there is more of a chance of the males being sterile, but most are still fertile.
Oh and the RTC and TS cross....those are INCREDIBLE....they are absolutely stunning!!
