Has anyone here actually built one, and how long have you had it? I am seriously considering building one this summer aprox 225 gallons. 72 x 24 x30. I have looked at the GARF plans and it seems easy enough and cost effecient. (Actually I am going to have help from "pro" carpenters and painters). But besides all the endorsements on the pages I would like to know how they hold up and if any maintenance is required to have it last for years to come.

With good quality epoxy and good workmanship, it will last virtually forever.

Go to Garf.org (http://www.garf.org/) and click on How to pages. There are various designs for tanks, stands lighting.

As far as epoxies go, check out aquaticecosystems.com. They're a commercial aquaculture supplier that sell epoxy paints specially made for doing just that. As well as just about everything else you can imagine.
