so i have had my 55 gallon set up for about two months and everything is doing great i had actually cycled around 4 weeks but just went ahead and waited to put fish in to make sure. so far all i have is a tang, coral banded clean up shrimp and a anemone. i decided to get some snails and was looking on a web site and found some really cool things i would like to get. i would like a anemone carrying hermit crab and a decorator snail. and a bumble bee snail I was wondering what you guys thought. and i would really love to have a basket star fish but i am not sure about that yet. let me know what you think i'm still new and so far this forum is 100 time more honest than my LFS

i never had an anemone but im thinking maybe your tank needs to cycle longer for that but ive never had one or done research. What type of tang because most need more than a 55 gallon when they get big. I just know about the bumblebee snails and i've get a couple. in my 75 ive got like 13 or so, great gound sifters. wait for more replies to see what everybody else has to say.

You might consider some of the more conventional cleaners to start with. Scarlet hermits, astrea, turbo, nassarius snails, serpent star.
The anemone hermit will get rather big, and probably destructive.
Bumblebee snails aren't particularly good scavengers, and some say they are predators to be avoided. Not sure what a decorator snail is.
Basket stars are nearly impossible to keep alive in the long term, because they need a constant supply of suspended food particles.
