right now i have 1 oscar about 3.5 in. and 2 JD's one is 4in. and the other 3.5. they are in a 55 gal right now but i am gettign a 125 gl for christmas. i will transfer the 3 fish i have now into it but i was wondering what other fish i could put with them in this size if any.

i was thinking about the clown loaches but i also kind of wanted antoher pair of cichlids if possible.

any suggestions at all will be helpfull, everyone here knows a lot more than i do so im looking for some help

I think that as female Salvini would be a nice addition. It would add some nice color to the tank. Plus she'll be able to hold her own if need be.

thanks i was thinking about a salvani and a firemouth and maybe a few clown loaches. do you think they will be to much with 2 jd and an oscar in a 125 gal.

Skip the Salvini unless you want a war in your tank. They do not get that large, but man are they agressive!

Wait until you have the new tank setup and running a few weeks before you buy anymore fish. I would not add anymore cichlids. The ones you have now will all grow before you know it (and being territorial, their claim for tank space will grow accordingly). I would add schooling fish like Silver Dollars, Tinfoil Barbs or Bala Sharks (at least 3 of each, but only choose one species). See if your LFS has Leoporinus or Striped Headstanders, these are interesting fish. You could also add one of the smaller shovelnose cats and/or a pleco. Loaches are hard to treat if they get sick, you really need a quarantine tank (they are sensitive to certain medications). Also, you must get 5 or more, they need to be in groups.

Basically, I would round the tank out into more of a community tank. This way it doesn't turn into a cichlid slugfest all the time. Believe me, this gets frustrating.
