Hole In the Head? Any none Vet Treatments?

It appear's My balloon ram has hole in the head. Everything ive read points to the only option is to take him to the vet (Im in Canada, so there's no med's for it at the LFS) , But hell im not paying $50 to save a $10 fish. Anyone have any ideas on treatment or anything on this or is he a goner?

There are many theories and ideas on how to heal your fish......but they didn't work for me.

There are many links from people within those threads to some helpful articles. The "cures" seemed to work for a while, and I thought I was going to win the battle..........but in the end HitH won.

Go to the drug store, get some liquid "centrum" multi vitamin ( or any other reputable mutivitamin in liquid form) and saok their food in it everyday. clean the tank until nitrates are all but non-existant and hope for the best. you will have to give vitamins religiously, and once the disease is there it will never totally go away, but IME is usually controllable. Gulp had a tough one, but fortunately Hith doesn't always win. Once you have it, just do the best you can and hopoe it works out.
