Hi all,

I bought this fish 6 days ago and it hasnt eaten anything since?

Ive tried all I could to get this fish to eat, Ive tried floating pellets, shrimp pellets, bloodworms, tetra bits, flakes and its no good. It tried to eat the shrimp pellet but it spat it back out.

The fish acts normally and have even claimed territory and seems very healthy.

I was thinking the fish couldnt get the food due other fish got to them first.

So I put him in my 2ft tank with a feeder goldfish and will move him back into big tank as soon as he knows me.

But no success :( Ive never had this much difficulty feeding a fish.

Can anyone please help me.

Thank you

My Texas has the same behaviour. He is an adult, very active, but i never see him eat. I have had him for one year now, and I have only seen him eat Hikari occasionally, yet he is very fit and robust. Many Texas are just very skittish fish and shy away when you move the lid to feed them. I only feed him now before I turn out the lights. I then hear a lot of splashing and noises! I guess some Texas are so skittish that they prefer to eat in the dark.
