Is it true that some colors of discus are as a rule "tougher", "heartier" or more assertive than others? I have what looks like a red turquoise (sold as a blue face) and some that look like red pigeon bloods, a couple of turquoise and a yellow pigeon blood. Well, the red turquoise and the red pigeon bloods seem overall smarter, and more assertive taking the food directly from my hand and chasing the others away (thus getting the lion's share of the food). They are also more inquisitive, even following my hand when I clean the tank. In the month I've had them they've grown at least 30%. The blues have grown a little, but not as much since they are not as assertive and wait for whatever filters down to them (they are also more "picky" in what they eat). Is it just my individual fish, or is there a difference in the colors and varieties of discus and their personalities? My red turquoise discus in by far the dominant fish in the tank, chasing the others, but the two reds don't let his agression keep them from getting their share (unlike the other 3). The yellow pigeon I got last, and he is trying to get into the click with the other two pigeons but is still the odd one out, I feel he'll be in the club soon though
