i'm really tempted to cut off a piece of my anubias, its a baby plant...

do you guys think its ok to separate this plant from the mother plant?
i has its own rhizome and roots:)

but i'm not sure if its ok..and if it'll be beneficial to themother plant or harm the mother plant??

here's the picture...
what do you guys think?

I've never seen them self-prune. Or have 'babies'. They do branch well if pruned regularly or nicked. I have a couple of rhizomes with 4 or 5 branch offs on them.

terror.....patience!!:)

yes I am of the opinion that a large anubias that has many 'babies' or branches is more desireable than many small peices just becuase of the time involved in getting them to that size.

Aside from the applied hydroponics experience that I have gained from doing plant tanks, patience is the one thing that this hobby has/is still teaching me. I feel much better for it, as well.

I've owned one anubias nana, and it had 3 babies while I owned it, one pruned itself, and the others didn't. I eventually gave them to my girlfriend's betta fish. It's still alive and quite well, with 2 babies attached.

Patience is not only a virtue, it's an essential in this hobby.

The "self-pruning" that occurs in my tanks is I suspect from my various adult Synodontis or some suckermouth cat plowing through the "carpet" But I do find disconnected offsets periodically.
