Can I easily change from 10K MH to 20K?

I found someone on Ebay selling a brand called Hamilton MH 250 watt lights. They are 20K. I've been using 10K bulbs for my reef.

Would changing them be a problem? I suspect that I'd like the look of 20K more than the 10K. And they're a GOOD price.

Any thoughts of what that change would do?

Welcome to AC!

20000 K lamps have slightly lower photosynthetically available radiation values than 10000 K, and Hamiltons have somewhat lower values of PAR per watt, but it's probably not enough difference to worry about.

I puchased a Hamilton light 72" 3 -250w MH on two seperate transformers; 2 vho compact 03's in back row, and 2 vho 96w in the front for greater lighting control. I am pleased with it. It was easy to build a canopy for it.

Forgot to add, I'm in the market for another light. 72" on 260g 32"deep. Want the capability to keep a reef with fish! Any advice before my investment would be appreaciated!
