guppys how many can i fot into my tank

If guppies are the only fish going into the tank:

3-4 males and 6-8 females..

..would be a good number. This will allow room for the fry too, if you plan on raising a few in the same tank with the adults. Your plants should provide them protection and cover.

Does it matter?

Gee, not to be too simple about it, but, with guppies, does it matter how you stock it?

I added 2 males and 3 females to a 30 gallon planted tank, next week had 13 fish, next week had 24 fish, next week had 34 fish, then I stopped counting!

Get 1 Male and 2 Female, Wait a couple months Your tank will be full

If your going to raise the fry in the same tank make sure to plant it well, Or they will all get eaten.

Yeah. Even if you even buy one adult female you will have a tankful before you know it... They seem to self regulate their numbers in a tank as well by eating the fry...
