i posted last night got one response with no true answer to my question but heres my queestion again ive got 2 platies that apear pregnant because a. there big and b. the males our paying a lot of attention to them weve got 4 platies 2 our males two are females we just discovered this today weve got a couple breeding nets to put the females in im just not sure how long theve been pregnant basicly my question is what should i do at this point should i put them in the nets thanks any hep will help.

Just leave them as they are. The babies will be able to hide well enough. I've had them hide in the gravel in a tank that had regular aquarium gravel, the spaces are big enough. I assume there is more than just gravel in your tank so they will be o.k.. Any other fish in there that might eat the babies? As stated in the other post (duplicate posting isn't too well liked, instead, answer your own question with *bump*, that way, it gets moved back to the top of the list so it won't get missed) you'll have more babies so I wouldn't worry if you lose a few. Hope this answer is more to your likeing.

This has nothing to do with the question but, I was just telling you that Im from Syracuse New York too, I thought that was really cool!

my platy always becomes pregnant. The best thing to do is to leave them in the tank and purchase something called baby grass that floats on the surface of the tank and heavy plantation for the fry. Do not put the female in the net for it will stress her and will lead to abortion. ;)

I just have a mess of java moss in my tank. The momma drops her babies, and by the time she's done, they've all retreated under the java moss... In about 2 weeks they will be swimming around midwater with mom and dad. Get hikari first bites and an eyedropper from CVS. Suck up some dry first bites into the eyedropper and then suck up some water in there too, then squirt it all into the tank to feed.
