I like that blue also. It has a much clearer appearance than with the normal backgrounds. :)

I like that a lot! What brand and color of paint did you use?

Just a home depot latex and we used a foam roller. I made sure to roll in the horizontal directio as suggested by a few folks. It was a big decision between black or that color blue. I kinda wish I went with the black but the wife love the blue and we both agree that when we start buying fish they will contrast nicely with the blue.

That looks great. I considered going with blue when I painted mine. Decided to go with back to match the trim on the tank, stand and preskimmer box. There's always the next one

Well I had a slight dilema :( I was looking at how the paint was sticking and noticed it was real easy to peel. The wife and I decided to completely peel it off(3 layers) and now it is back to normal. It was hilarious when we were peeling it, it came off in one complete sheet.

Looks like I am back to the drawing board and we may go back to the black backround and I will this time use a oil based rustoleum. I think 1st i am going to order a black sticky backround to make sure it is what I am trying to achieve.

Owell sometimes we learn the hard way....right?

Do you have any pics of the black backround?

You see, thats the nice thing about latex paint on glass. When you are tired of the color, you can just peel it off. I painted the back of both of my tanks with latex flat back and have no problems with peeling. I did put on about 8 coats...

I guess you have to be gentle with it or make sure that the glass is real clean before painting. Out of curiosity, was the paint you used semi-gloss or gloss? That might have an effect on the cohesion to the glass.

it was a semi-gloss. I am looking around online now for alternate ideas. Do they sell a stick on backround that comes in may shades? hmmm I can't decide.

I with I had some black construction paper around to get a better idea on how the black would look.
