i am interested in doing a power compact setup for a 125 gal . does anybody have any ideas on how cost-effective it would be and plans for doing it. I want to do the hood and wiring myself. any info would be greatly appreciated! (i am wanting to probably run 4 x 96 watt)
For DIY pc lighting components/kits, it's hard to beat http://www.ahsupply.com. I've purchased from them and my experience was great; the kits are really easy to wire up.

are the kits from ah supply cheaper then buying the components individually?
I don't know; I never priced out the pieces individually. With AHSupply's reputation, prices, and customer service, I didn't even consider buying piece-by-piece....but that was a couple years ago. If I was currently in the market for new pc setups, I'd probably look around for better prices...but I wouldn't hesitate to order from AHSupply again if their prices were comparable.

The kits from AH supply are one of the least expensive kits out there.
They use the best ballasts and reflectors avaliable.
