View Full Version : i think i have too many fishies!

ok... no one snap at me.. but over time i have gotten ahead of myself and have too many fish in my 25 gallon tank. here they are: 3 gold fish(2 are going to a new home this weekend)2 tetras, 2 danios(trying to catch them and get them a new home tomarrow)4 guppies, 1 small pleco, 3 mollies, and 2 crabs that are also going with the goldfish. even once i get rid of these few i will still have alot. none of my fish are fighting and they all seem so happy and have been like this for a few weeks now. will they be ok for a littly while longer or should i start getting rid of them ASAP!? :confused:

Get rid of all the gold fish. They do not belong in the same tank as tropical fish because they are cold water and get huge. What i would do if i were you is get rid of the guppies (i dont find they are a good comunity fish, besides being feeders :p ), get rid of the pleco, because if its a common one it will get huge. If you do that, you can beef out your school of tetras to like 5-6, keep your mollies, and maybe if you want get some corydoras catfish for bottom feeding.

Just curious, why don't you think guppies are good community fish? Are they fin nippers?

I would agree actually. Guppies are so fragile from being breed so much. At least thats the way it seems to me. That and the fact they can get picked on by anything. More goes into being a community fish than just being peaceful. Guppies just seem to be little targets!
