The rope fish

Just a question about that ropefish. How do you think it would fare with a 9" Blackbelt Cichlid? He isn't "super-aggressive", but he has hassled every other fish I've had with it until I had to remove them (live or dead :sad ). I'm adding him to a new tank for Christmas, and I'm wondering how you think they would stand up to a larger Cichlid? (he will get bigger, too! At least a foot, I expect). It's about 120 gallons and I'd like something else for interaction and show.

My bichirs regularily come to my hand and snatch food, most of the time i just dangle it just below the surface though. They're pretty fearless (most of the time), when i clean the tank i have to physically push them out of the way sometimes.

Ropefish are tolerant of a wide range of water conditions, so it would probably do o.k. in the high ph cichlids are kept in (although not ideal).
But, if the cichlid is aggressive, then i'd advise against it. Ropefish, like bichirs, are hardy fish, but often succumb to aggressive fish. It'll probaly be killed or maimed, or continually harassed.

Really? Never thought of a Bichir as one to be bullied, but never owned one. Thanks for the input.
