Critter 1: As far as I can tell it doesn't move, is rounded in appearance from all sides, and is reddish, and is attached to a tiny piece of rubble from my live sand.

Critter 2: Only out during the day disappears completely into live rock at night. Whitish tan.

1. Looks like a red macroalgae of some sort. I can't decide what it is at this size.
2. Some kind of star polyp or encrusting gorgonian. I'd say star polyp based on the color of the base (purple) and the polyps (greenish). Try googling "briareum" or "pachyclavularia." I would post some pix, but I'm escaping houseguests right now.

Well critter two is now growing a third bit, and I have another chunk of rock which seems to be sprouting small green bits of macroalgae, some type of serrated type. Kind of cool looking.

Critter 1 Update:

Still don't know what it is. It does have very small (flea size or so) little white animals living on it, might be in the rest of the tank, only noticeable on this.

My best guess is a species of Scinaia. The Caribbean species (S. complanata) becomes a bush about 5-8 cm high.
