Got the fish today

The ammonia and the Nitrites droped to 0ppm's. So I decided to get the fish today. Got the 10 Red Eyes. Also since I am going to be over protective I did get some Cycle, just to be on the safe side. I put them in and tested the water about 2 hour later water is fine :dance , I will be testing again tonight, and doing a water change if needed (maybe if not needed) I have 8.5 gals of water sitting out just wanting to be used in the tank if it is needed, the tank is a 20 gal tank with about 25bls of gravel so that should be very close to half the water. I will keep all posted here on how things go.

You shouldn't have wasted your money on cycle. It does NOTHING. I have tried it and so have many other people. The only thing that does work is Bio-Spira.
 
The best way to be over protective of your fish is to keep testing the water for ammonia and nitrites and do water changes when needed. Cycle contains an ammonia eating bacteria that doesn't convert the ammonia to nitrite. It is a different bacteria so it really doesn't do a proper cycle.
 
LOL, That is where I got them, Aquatic Connection. I live the Oakland section so it is close for me, after looking at the 2 stores on Murry (Aquatic Connection and Alans Pets and Plants) I like the condition and the personalty of the people at Aquatic Connection. Alans had the Red Eye Tetras seperated one per tank, and I think that is not a good idea since they are a schooling fish. I will admit I did not see any dead fish in eather place, and all their fish in both places look healthy to me. (I was tempted to go to Elmers in Monroville, but I figured it might be better to go to a small shop instead of a big place.)
 
Alan is too pushy, he told me that he sells tanks and fish in the same day and never has any problems. BS. I just don't feel comfortable with him.

Mark at Aquaic Connection always has healthy fish and gives good advice. He won't just sell you somehting to make a sale. In fact he does his best to talk you out of making a stupid buy.

Elmers is afun place to go tons of healthy looking fish, but I prefer to go to the little guys too. Mark from AC was one of the first partners that started Elmers up.

I'm in the south hills, but my Girlfriend lives in greenfield so I find plenty of excuses to stop in to look at fish.

I'm also in the Pittsburgh area (just moved here from Indianapolis).

I've checked out Elmer's, but I haven't been to Aquatic Connection yet.

Have you guys been to All Oddball Aquatics? Probably the most impressive shop that I've ever seen. The owner (Eric Bodrock) is an expert Cory breeder and was even featured in the month's TFH magazine.

Yes the streets are crazy. Especially downtown, but what do you expect if you build a city in a triangle?

Good to see some follow yinzers (or at least imports) on AC forums. I too am an import via England. (I was 8 when I came here.)
