I'm just wondering if my Salmon Cats will end up eating my Corydoras... ?? ... I first got my 2 Salmon Cats when they were a tiny 3" long but now they're easily 8" ... I watch how feroscious they eat raw beef heart pieces at dinner time, they could easily fit a cory in their huge mouth, even though they never have.
I've read about corydoras being armoured catfish & I thought most fish will NOT hassle them... Are my cory's safe? I have 20 assorted types in my 6x2x2 Thanks in advance ... Merry Xmas

I don't know much about salmon catfish, but if they're anything like every other large predatory catfish out there then i'd say your corys are not safe.
Eventually they'll figure they could feed themselves and eat your corys. And armour does not help when you're being swalloed whole.
Keep your salmon catfish well fed to minimize the temptation.

I would be potentialy worried. Any catfish will eat anything that fits in its mouth. But cory catfish have big spines and if they start to get eaten they will flare them up getting trapped int he preditors mouth. This happens a lot with fish like oscars trying to eat cories. Then both fish end up dying.

Hi there Tkos & Spartan I'm so sorry I didnt get back to you but I've only just noticed these replies... I guess I didn't have the reply notify box checked. Thanks for your help, I'll make sure they're well fed 24/7 :-)
