I know that it has likely been discussed a million times, but what are the advantages of using a 100% white silica sand vs. the ever popular Home Depot playsand? I am thinking of getting rid of my current horrible set-up & switching to a DSB and was just looking for some thoughts or advice.
I really like the look of the silica sand, but if it's harmful to the tank, or lacks some of the benefits, then I would give some better consideration to the other sand.
