So, I splurged a little and got a new set of Dual compacts w/built in lunar lights for my 37g. Also purchased a small "cleaner" crew of snails and hermits. Sorry, not the best pics.... oh, and yes the glass was pretty dirty when I took the pics, but has since been cleaned. I'm also in desperate need of a background to hide those wires!

The tank is looking good. The lights set it off nicely.

That is good idea. I like it because once you get tired off the background and want a change you just flip it over. :)

Protein skimmer will be coming soon, probably in a week or two. I got a gift certificate for X-mas for my LFS, so i'll use that towards the skimmer. Also, should I ditch the Aquaclear 300 once I get the skimmer???

One note, my tank don't look like that anymore. This is it as of 1/3/2005.
Excuse the poor quality photo

Not unless you plan on getting a larger one. Even though you have a skimmer you still need a power filter. We have very similiar set ups. I only started a month ago also.

Well, my budget is pretty tight, but i'll probably use a gift certificate I got for my LFS and get the Red sea prizm. I know its not the best one out there, but the price is right, and most i've talked to said it will work well for my 37g.

thanks for the help! I'm really trying to keep my 37 as simple as I can, and once I have a little success with this, I want to go ahead with my plans for a 135g or larger..... Once I start that I can forget about being "cost efficient!!!" ;) :)

Also, the cooling fan for the lights(its a separate plug), should I have this running constantly while the lights are on, or should I have it set to kick on from time to time??? The instructions don't say anything about this...
