Bristlenose Pleco digger???
A little background...My only bristlenose pleco is residing in a 120g, planted tank. His home at this time seems to be a smaller terra cotta pot that was cut in hald and turned over to form a cave. Over few weeks I have noticed that he moved some gravel around to make the cave deeper. But nothing major and it stayed at that.
I left for a week's vacation and when I came back I couldn't believe what he's done. He moved around 2" of gravel deep by 4" long all for the purpose of making his cave seem deeper.
Is this normal behaviour? I'm pretty surprised as he's moved quite a bit of gravel from the front and underneath the pot.
I was thinking of getting him a spawning cave. If not him then corries can use them. Anyone used JBL spawning caves before? the caves are aprox 4.75" in diameter at the base, 5" highm and the hole is 1.75" in diameter - is it enough for a bushynose pleco as mine seems pretty big.
Thanks.
