hi all

hopeing someone here can answer 2 puestions for me... i have a 35 gal with 2 angels, 1 pleco, and 2 ADF's. one of my angels has had over the past week gotten more raged around the fins (with what looks like white fluffy spots near the edges) and also has a small pin hole at the base of his pec fin. all the others seem to be fine at present. i have added fungus eliminator as per directions on the bottle. does anyone know if the pin hole would be related to the fungus? also will the meds hurt the ADF's?????

hi Anita..... I've been looking at your post for a couple of days hoping someone had an easier answer for you. It's hard for me to figure exactly what is going on with your fish other than it is a fungal infecton of some sort. I've never owned ADF's so I can't help you with whether the med is safe for them but I can direct you to a disease site where you can compare your diseased fish to pictures and hopefully get a diagnosis there and then maybe come back with that and the folks here can help with suggestions in their experiences. Meds and African Dwarf Frogs

Hi Anita. As for your fungus or bacteria on the angel I am not sure what you have exactly, but in my opinon you did the right thing to start a treatment before it is contracted by the other fish. As for meds for the frogs it should not hurt them. I have a planted 15 gal tank with several fish including two angels, gold barbs, a few neons, cory cat, two simease algea eaters, ADF, and a few red ee tetras ( I know that you are not supposed to have that many, but they have been going strong for almost 2 years now and I have yet to lose a fish in this tank). I have had to medicate my tank a few times and have done so without any problems with the frog. Hope this helps and good luck.

well looks like everyone in my tank is fine now though that little hole in my angels fin does not seem to be closing up.... i have tried finding pics online that show something similar but no luck... think i may have to try to get a pic of my angel to post or to bring in to the fish shop here (actually found one here that does nothing but fish, thought that was cool)
