Good afternoon. I have a couple of questions.

1) Pepper cory. He has clear blisters on his back. What should I do for him?

2) Red platie. It appears to be really fat or it is going to have little fish. I have move her to another smaller tank. and put a towel over the tank to make it look like a cave. Is there anything else I should do?

Look forwarding to hearing from some expert.

Thanks

1) These blisters are a virus, similar to herpes in people. There isn't much you can do to treat them--they are a stress reaction, so make sure the water is in good shape and stable, and that the cory isn't being picked on by another fish. They usually go away within a month or so, less time if there really was a big problem that you can fix (ie, a cycling tank with high levels of ammonia).

2) Floating plants are a good idea--you should be able to see a dark spot on her tummy. Floating plants or a mass of loose java moss will give the babies a hiding spot that's safe from mom.

Pepper Cory

Thank you for your help.
I had two pepper corys in the tank. One died before Christmas. I just added two new pepper corys to the tank on Monday. Could the stress have been caused because the one had died and it was alone?

Again thanks for your help.
