I need help - my plants have a thichly coated maroon-blackish-brown colered algae growing on their leaves (mainly my sword plants) i've had it for a while but it seems to cripple the leaves and they don't fully open once they get covered in this stuff, yet some leaves dont always die off from it - it looks like the algae would interfere with the plants ability to photosynthesize - anyhow any one know what this is? or how to control it? none of my algae eaters touch it ottoas, clown pleco, SAE -

thanks
