OK, heres the stuff I posted about earlier. I borrowed a digi cam and got some pics. What the heck is this all over my plants and driftwood? It's the exact same color as my substrate, maybe a tad darker. If I brush it off, it's right back on their 12 hours later. I've even seen a lil bit of it start to form on my back glass wall.

Hooray for sand and live plants!

Did you just recently set this tank up with Flourite or something similar? It looks like the dust has settled on your plants.

If not I would guess it is brown algae, wipes off easily.

I put sand in about 2 weeks ago... but i know its not substrate on the leaves and stuff because as soon as i wipe it off, its back within 12 hours

Well, that could be due to settling, if your filter is kicking up enough of it, creating dunes and waves etc in the sand then, yeah, it still could be sand.

there is zero doubt in my mind - that is sand dust...
either your filter or your fish are kicking it up...

Looks like algae and worms to me, what are your water parameters?
Is your tank near a window? Is their a mosquito problem in your area? I had this problem in my 10g planted tank with sand, it sounds like an algae problem to me. Maybe a white worm problem as well.

Definately not just "sand". Sand doesn't get "kicked up" that easily. If that were the case the water would be cloudy.

BTW your pictures are WAY too big, they're going to get taken off by the mods.

I dont think its just sand settling because I have to scrub pretty hard to get the "squgglies" off the leaves and theyre even forming on the back glass wall of my tank (you can see that in some of the pics). My water is almost perfectly clear, what you see is stuck/growing on the glass.

The fact that the squiggles are clinging pretty good made me think it was something live. Im 99.9% positive its NOT just water kicking sand around.

My tank is not near a window at all, and my water params are all good (I check about every other day). Yesterday I was at:

NH3 = 0
NO2 = 0
N03 = 15ppm

I sure does look like some type of "worm" but they dont move...

My g/f had those worms in here pacu tank when I met her. They're definately alive. They're called planaria, probably came from your local water supply (eww....). My advice would be to get an RO unit, FAST. Just to be on the safe side.

That algae can be quite a pain in the butt, I battled it for awhile. Once it takes hold of the nutrient supply it takes pretty a 2 week blackout to get rid of it. I tried everything, but in the end a 2 week blackout got rid of it. Dwarf puffers replacing the pacu got rid of the planaria problem.
