Does anyone know any power heads that will blow out tonnes of air (dont want another airpump)??? thanks not bothered about flow rate... i have a 48"x24"x24" ish cos its bowed....

thanks

you can add an air intake on an output of just about any device, powerhead, filter, etc...

drill - caulk - tube - needle valve

as the water flows past the drilled hole it causes a vacuum which sucks air from the tube line, limited by the needle valve. This air gets pulled into the water flow and churned out

you can see such a device on these models:

yea i know that but i only have an external and an airpump on at the moment
i just want to flood the tank full of air and i think its going to be cheaper by a power head rather than an air pump

as a powerhead is cheaper than a airpump and i feel that the air pump and the air on the outake of my external is not sufficient

they are but the venturi on them always seems more affective than a second air pump and they are cheaper, get why?

yes i have an airpump,
it has 2 outlets WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! and one is connected to a small 2cm airstone the other is forcing air into the venturi of my rena xp2 (i think its that model) and i think there still may not be enough o2

answer q: which company produces a powerhead which has a good venturi on it?

If you want to flood your tank w/ bubbles for better gas exchange, don't bother. The best thing that you can do for gas exchange is to agitate the surface of the water. Get an Aquaclear 402 powerhead and angle it towards the surface.

Even better, if you really want to maximize gas exchange, get a small magdrive pump (like a 2) and put it on the bottom of your tank, output facing upwards toward the surface. It will pull the water from the bottom of your tank and blow it up to the top while agitating the surface. Don't try this w/ a sand substrate.
