I REALLY love this fish :dance , but I don't want to put it in with fish that will take advantage of its blindness :thud: . Would someone please help me decide what species of fishes could complement this beautiful fish? :o

Thanks for any help!

Oh your in luck. I have a bkg, you can put him with anything except small fish like neons, that he'll eat, although, I kept mine with guppys and no problem. No agressive fish like big cichlids that will pick on him. Other than that, just about anything, even discus. :)

Phantom tetras, congo tetras, black skirt tetras........any of the bigger tetra is a good choice. Anglefish too. Ummmmm rainbows would be nice with him too :)

I second that, the black ghost is capable of eating up tankmates that could fit into its mouth, and at the same time cannot defend as well from fierce cichlids. I have them with my tinfoil barbs and a school of red devils before but i didnt have much problem with them.

He's not really blind, just very poor sighted. He senses light and dark, but does not really 'see' using a sonar (like bats do) to navigate. He sends out signals, that bounce off objects and return to him so he senses food and objects.
He swims over food for example, senses it, switches into reverse, and scoops it up.
I noticed mine swims sideways when he wants to travel fast. Like when I turn on my pc lights, back to his cave. He'll swim backwards and forwards over the substrate, like a bloodhound with his nose to the ground. He kinda reminds me of the black labrador retriever, dog I used to have.
