I went to chat rooms but most poo poo'd my ? so i am asking here.

I set up my 20g w/no fish and the water temp is good. no cycle just set up today. I wanted to know how to add the Bio Spira, directly into the water, in the filter or what. Is it specifically designed to add to a new tank w/fish or can i add it tonight and get fish tomorrow?

Also another question, can I add it to my 2.5g tank that is in the middle of cycle w/.25 ammonia, 2 nitrites and 5 nitrAtes to speed things up?

Thanks so much for any and all help and opinions.

(Not really interested in fishy vs fishless cycle, just want an answer from above, thanks for understanding!!! :)

In order for Bio-Spira to be effective, you'll want to add it directly to the water at the same time you add the fishes. The bacteria within Bio-Spira needs a food source to survive, and that comes from the ammonia generated by the fish. Putting them in and letting them starve for a night might not kill off all of the bacteria but what's the point?

Adding Bio-Spira to a cycling tank will speed up the process.
