Green algea on sand

I got this green algea on my sand. its not hairy, it comes in clumps, i took some out, and it came in clumps that were pretty close together. the algae on my rocks are gone, this is like 2 weeks ago pic. You can see my tank below i have the algae on my sand in those pics.

I don't know as much about saltwater, but if that were a freshwater tank I would say it's blue-green algae...Can someone tell me if it even grows in saltwater? It's a serious pain in the neck to get rid of. It's kind of slimy, comes off in sheets. :(
 
purified water

Make sure you are either using purified or distilled water for water changes. I made the same mistake like a day later most of the algae started to disapear or you might want to get a tang or an angel to eat some of the algea but i recommend using distilled water method.
