I don't know where to buy base rock at but I seen some awesome live rock
on www.windowtothesea.com web-site. If your interested in buying live rock that looks like a good place to start. I know when I get some more thats where I'll get it.

Can you get rock at a landscaping store if you have a saltwater aquarium??? Will it mess up the parameters??

base rock

you can get base rock from some land scaping places... most base rock is just limestone... ... this is excellent for the tnaks becuase it is calcium based and will help to keep your tank ph in check...... most all live rock from florida is limerocks based (like "Keys rock")
It is actualy the same thing highrocks sells... without the shipping charge..

you can save some money on sand too by getting old castle or Southdown sand from home improvment and lumber yards.. it is tropicals play sand that is agranite based sand.... really white and agian calcium based without the silicates.. normaly a 50 pound bag is only 5 dollars.... alot more then that for the same stuff labeled as reef sand and so forth form the fish store.
